what is best for dying acrylic?
60% Nylon
30% Acrylic
8% Wool
2% Spandex
without shrinking it, from bright pink to solid black
Natural fibers will accept dye and absorb it more so than synthetic fabrics.
Acrylic is a form of polyester. You won't get great results dying it, but since you're going from a lighter color to such a dark color, a couple applications should do the trick.
Just be prepared with the possibility of the outcome not being favorable. Anytime you dye a garment on your own its impossible to know if the results will be what you expect.
Good luck!
